The real MVPs

Yippee!!! I just posted our first blog post. So the idea is this- together, we can try to reach out to women (single, married, divorced, widowed) who are trying to do the extra by taking a degree either at undergraduate or graduate levels. I want us to have an avenue to encourage one another. Sometimes, you feel like you the only one who understands the joys and pains of juggling being a mum, wife, sister, daughter, girlfriend and whatever else with being a student. The experience is overwhelmingly joyful sometimes but at other times, it's not that great. We also will be posting graduate funding opportunities for women who would like to get into grad school. I believe this would be a good resource for knowing what to prepare for, how to prepare and when to start preparing. If you are a woman who has gone through this phase - balancing family life and schooling, please send in your stories. We are happy to receive questions and stories of other schooling women - the present

Hard work + Pure joy

Hi guys, I had this coursework to get done and my deadline was so close. I decided I could put in a few days of extra work to meet up. As I picked up my laptop to work that evening, little Ammy  had plans of her own. She must have thought, ' how can mummy work on her computer when I need her to be dancing to 'Wheels on the bus' with me at this time'. I thought of how much easier school life would have been without her, how much more sleep I would have gotten and how much more late nights I could have spent in the labs without permission. But you know what - I also thought of what my life would have been without her. I would definitely have it no other way.    The life of a schooling mummy- hard work + pure joy.
