The Shade of Women Foundation

Unfortunately, the incidence of domestic violence and abuse against women appears to be on the increase in Nigeria. Perhaps it isn't really on the increase but the access to social media has increased the awareness. People find it much easier to report abuse online especially through anonymous platforms because of the stigma still attached to victims of abuse and consequent separation or divorce. The main goal of the organization is to reduce the extent and impact of domestic violence in Nigeria where domestic violence is reinforced by economic hardship, alcohol abuse, other antisocial behavior, and social and cultural inequality.  For more informa
